“My most impactful mentor at HPU was Dr. Heather Miller, associate professor of chemistry. Not only did she teach me valuable skills in her research lab, but she also encouraged me to become a woman in the sciences.”
Most impactful moment at HPU:
“My most impactful moment at HPU was conducting my final research presentation at High-PURCS, HPU’s research and creativity symposium. Presenting the culmination of three years of research during my final days at HPU was a great ending to an amazing journey. I was able to show off all the hard work I put into my research and the skills I learned along the way.”
How has HPU’s inspiring environment contributed to your success?
“HPU’s environment provided me with many opportunities to grow academically and as a leader. HPU inspired me to reach for bigger and better things and then helped me achieve these goals.”
What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success?
“HPU prepared me for the professional world in multiple ways. Learning how to communicate, network and have confidence in myself are essential skills that helped me obtain my current position and will be useful in my professional life.”
What are the values and virtues HPU’s campus helped you develop that you’ll take with you after graduation?
“HPU’s values of growth and service will remain with me throughout my life. Having a growth mindset and learning new things is very important to me, especially since I am in a field that is constantly evolving. Giving back to others is something that truly adds value to my life.”

“Take advantage of all the opportunities HPU offers, in both academics and extracurriculars. Being involved gives you valuable hands-on experience that you can draw on when answering experiential questions in interviews.”
