HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 24, 2024 – Thousands of community members have enjoyed the sights and sounds of the holiday season while driving through High Point University’s campus during HPU’s 13th annual Christmas Drive celebration. The free event continues from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. each night through Dec. 27.
Guests are enjoying more than 100,000 Christmas lights, 235 large nutcrackers, a life-size Nativity scene and the state’s tallest Christmas tree at 70 feet as they make their way through campus. They also pass a 58-foot Christmas tree on the lawn outside the Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena and Conference Center.

Community members can tune into a special radio station to listen to Christmas carols performed by the talented students and faculty from HPU’s Department of Music while observing the many Christmas displays. As guests leave campus, they receive a special gift that includes information about HPU basketball games that fans can attend for free.
“Every year, we look forward to welcoming thousands of families and friends to our campus to celebrate Christmas,” HPU President Nido Qubein said. “The Christmas Drive has become a holiday tradition at HPU, and it is one of many ways that we bring our community together to spread joy, peace and fellowship.”
The Christmas Drive caps a month of holiday-themed events that allow thousands of community members to celebrate the Christmas spirit on HPU’s campus. Approximately 1,500 community members rang in the holiday season at HPU’s 53rd Annual Christmas Prayer Breakfast at the Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena and Conference Center on Dec. 6.
