How HPU helped you get there: “HPU gave me the platform to take advantage of opportunities that presented themselves in my growth. To be able to be well-rounded in technical and non-technical areas allowed me an edge that separated me from my peers.”

Most impactful mentor at HPU: “I am thankful to many people at the HPU that have taken the time to go out of their way to contribute to my success. In particular, I want to thank five individuals that have shaped the way I think and allowed me the opportunity to graduate in 3 1/2 years while being prepared for what’s next. Thank you to the following: Dr. Jim Wehrley, Associate Professor of Finance; Thomas James Assistant Professor of the Practice of Finance; Dr. Daniel Hall, Dean for the School of Business; Dr. Elizabeth Hupfer, Assistant Professor of Philosophy; and Assistant Athletic Director of Academics April Wines.”

Most impactful moment at HPU: “The memories with my teammates winning championships and growing into the professionals we are today. It taught me the core fundamentals of discipline and hard work and, even more, what it feels like when you capitalize on your chances.”

How has HPU’s inspiring environment contributed to your success? “It has given me the friendships and knowledge to go out into the world and create things. To be able to say I have that ability is a blessing, the world needs creators to drive innovation forward and I believe HPU is a place that agrees with that.”

What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success? “Networking and being vulnerable, you will not get anywhere without having the ability to communicate effectively and reinvent yourself. “

What are the values and virtues HPU’s campus helped you develop that you’ll take with you after graduation? “Kindness and awareness, two character traits that create a person that will have plenty of success in not just their career but in life.”

Advice for underclassmen: “First, everyone needs to define success for themselves. Success is not a single standard, and if you continue to chase what society deems as “winning”, then you will never know what enough is. Second, I believe that in order to do great things you have to be worthy of the opportunity. If you seek out opportunities that test you, spend time learning why things are done the way they are, challenge the status quo, then you will be a difference maker and not easily replaceable. Third, give more than you get – a simple rule for life that has allowed me to live a happy life with great people surrounding me. “
