Major: Master of Arts in Communication and Business Leadership
Post-graduation plans: Kelsey is starting her career as a human resource administrator for R.D. Graham Electric LLC in Greensboro, North Carolina. As a human resource administrator, she will be working with their field and office employees for timekeeping, payroll and PTO. In addition, Kelsey will also be keeping track and assisting with insurance benefits, 401k and completing onboarding tasks with new hires.
How HPU helped you get there: “HPU helped me learn how to better communicate not only from a business perspective but also as an individual altogether. They helped me grow and appreciate the workforce and business world and what is offered to us for our future.”
How you used Career & Professional Development: “The Office of Career and Professional Development helped me organize a proper resume, as well as showed me how to approach the job application process.”
What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success? “The life skills HPU helped me develop that prepared me for long-term success were communication skills, a growth mindset and accountability.”
What are the values and virtues HPU’s campus helped you develop that you’ll take with you after graduation? “Appreciate the little things in life and be grateful for everyday and all that comes along in life, whether good or bad. Positive mindset goes a long way.”
Advice for underclassmen: “Never give up on what your goal is, be persistent, be strong and be proud of how much you have accomplished.”
