As a Clinical Research Coordinator, she plays a vital role in managing clinical trials for groundbreaking medicines that have the potential to change lives. Megan’s responsibilities include coordinating all aspects of clinical studies, from planning and organizing to executing and monitoring, ensuring that they adhere to strict regulatory guidelines. Megan will work closely with patients, providing them with information and support throughout their participation in the trials. Additionally, she will collaborate directly with surgeons and healthcare professionals to facilitate the seamless integration of research protocols during surgical procedures. My on-campus job as a Resident Director, along with the rigorous academic coursework, pushed me to develop strong leadership and problem-solving skills. These experiences taught me to handle responsibility, manage my time effectively, and work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.

HPU’s emphasis on personal growth and professional development gave me the foundation I needed to succeed in the demanding field of clinical research. He instilled a confidence in me that has pushed me to be as successful as I am.”

What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success? “The confidence I gained from HPU’s supportive environment and encouraging staff has been invaluable. This sense of self-efficacy empowered me to take on leadership roles and make informed decisions, which are vital in my current position. The university also provided numerous opportunities to develop leadership and management skills, particularly through my role as a Resident Director. This experience taught me how to lead effectively, resolve conflicts, and motivate others to achieve shared goals. Additionally, HPU’s challenging and dynamic environment honed my adaptability and problem-solving abilities. Learning to navigate unexpected situations with a critical mindset has been instrumental in my career, especially in the fast-paced field of clinical research, where flexibility and quick thinking are often required. These skills have not only shaped my professional journey but also set the foundation for my long-term success.”

Advice for underclassmen: “Take advantage of every single thing you can in undergrad. These are the years you can test things, learn more about yourself, make mistakes, and find out exactly where you need to be in your life. This school offers everything you need to be the most successful version of yourself. You just need to take initiative.”
