As a Supply Chain Intern at Wells Fargo, she will assist with procurement processes, vendor management and cost optimization strategies to improve operational efficiency. Her role will involve analyzing supplier contracts, identifying cost-saving opportunities and supporting strategic sourcing initiatives. This experience will provide valuable insight into financial operations, risk management and supply chain strategy within a leading financial institution.
How HPU helped you get there: “High Point University has played a pivotal role in helping me get where I am today and preparing me for the future. She has provided me with invaluable, actionable advice that has shaped my growth and has consistently boosted my confidence. Through her guidance, she has helped me develop into a confident, professional young woman and a strong leader, empowering me to embrace my potential and approach challenges with assurance.”
Most impactful moment at HPU: “One of the most impactful moments at HPU was when I took on a leadership role in my sorority. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow in ways I didn’t expect, specifically when it came to public speaking, supporting a team and solving problems on the fly. It taught me a lot about my strengths and made me realize I can lead and communicate in ways I hadn’t fully recognized before. That experience has shaped how I approach challenges and leadership, and it’s something I’ll always look back on with pride.”
How has HPU’s inspiring environment contributed to your success? “HPU’s inspiring campus has truly played a big part in my success. The atmosphere here, with its supportive faculty, motivated peers and countless opportunities, has pushed me to challenge myself and aim higher. What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success? “The Career and Professional Development office has been instrumental in helping me craft a strong resume, LinkedIn profile and cover letters, ensuring I present myself as a competitive candidate. In addition to this, all my professors have given me valuable advice for not only my future career, but general life advice as well.”
What are the values and virtues HPU’s campus helped you develop that you’ll take with you after graduation? “High Point University has helped me develop key values and virtues that will stay with me long after graduation. Through its emphasis on leadership, professionalism and personal growth, HPU has instilled in me the importance of resilience, adaptability and integrity. I’ve learned the value of building meaningful relationships, seizing every opportunity with confidence and approaching challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset. Most importantly, HPU has reinforced the belief that success is driven by hard work, passion and the willingness to push beyond my comfort zone. These lessons I will carry with me throughout my career and life.”
Advice for underclassmen: “Don’t sleep on what HPU has to offer — there are so many resources here that can help set you up for success. Surround yourself with people who have similar goals and work ethic, and find YOUR people. Make the most of opportunities like speaker events, Career and Professional Development and connecting with your professors. Get involved on campus, even if it’s just joining one club or getting an on-campus job — every little bit helps. And remember, HPU will push you to step outside your comfort zone. Take that leap of faith, and trust that HPU will guide you toward success.”
