Major: Business Administration, minor in Data Analytics
Post-graduation plans: Kellen will begin his career working as an Analyst Rotational within Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems division in Baltimore, Maryland. Kellen’s role consists of three rotations that will give him experience with contracting, program profit/loss and controlling roles such as budget and compliance analysis. After his rotations, Kellen will be able to select a role in which to continue his career with Northrop Grumman.
How HPU helped you get there: “HPU has given me the industry exposure, communication skills, and the confidence that prepared me to face an uncertain and ever-shifting job market and to achieve my career goals.”
Did any portion of your job interview process include a dining component? If so, did you feel HPU prepared you for this type of setting? “Yes, we had a social dinner/mixer in a hotel venue the night before interviewing. HPU prepared me so well with fantastic fine dining etiquette, learning from PRIME, Alo, and Kazoku. I was able to not only follow proper etiquette but also had the confidence to thrive in that situation.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU: “It is hard to say who my most impactful mentor at HPU was, but I would have to say Professor David Kame, Management Adjunct Instructor. He is an absolutely fantastic professor who not only wants his students to do well in the classroom but is willing to go above and beyond to help prepare his students for finding a career. He is never afraid to point students towards positions on LinkedIn, and has been a fantastic mentor to me.”
Advice for underclassmen: “Never sell yourself short and please take advantage of all of the wonderful opportunities and resources here. High Point provides everything you need to be successful. Going out every day and pursuing your goals is your end of the deal.”
