Post-graduation plans: Raegan will be starting her career as an Interior Design Consultant for Restoration Hardware in Charlotte, North Carolina. As an Interior Design Consultant, she will be providing expert guidance to clients by helping them design and style spaces in their homes using RH’s luxury furnishings. This role involves offering personalized consultations to create cohesive, elevated interiors that reflect the client’s lifestyle and aesthetic.
How HPU helped you get there: “High Point University’s hands-on learning experience truly prepared me for my future. The interior design program is rigorous and immersive, challenging me in the best way and pushing me to grow into the designer I am today. The Office of Career and Development prepared me for my future as they helped me find resources and strategies for my job search. Their guidance gave me clarity and confidence as I began exploring opportunities in the design industry.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU: “My most impactful mentor at HPU was Mr. Linn, who taught me during my first two years in the Interior Design program and also served as my advisor. He was always incredibly encouraging and reminded our class that we were here for a reason, which gave me a strong sense of purpose and confidence early on in my college journey.”
Most impactful moment at HPU: “One of the most impactful moments at HPU was our freshman convocation. Dr. Nido Qubein’s speech to the Class of 2025 was incredibly inspiring — it made me feel excited, motivated and truly ready to begin this new chapter. It set the tone for the journey ahead and reminded me that I was exactly where I was meant to be.”
How has HPU’s inspiring environment contributed to your success? “HPU’s inspiring environment contributed to my success by surrounding me with people and mentors who genuinely cared about my growth. It felt like everyone was in my corner supporting, encouraging and pushing me to become the best version of myself.”
What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success? “High Point University helped me develop the confidence to connect with others and build meaningful relationships, an essential skill in the design world. I’ve learned how to present myself authentically and reach out without hesitation, which has prepared me to step boldly into my career.”
What are the values and virtues HPU’s campus helped you develop that you’ll take with you after graduation? “HPU taught me resilience and optimism, values that I’ll carry with me after graduation. I’ve learned that every “no” isn’t a dead end, but rather a redirection toward new and often better opportunities.”
Advice for underclassmen: “Take advantage of your resources and lean into your connections. While the beginning may be challenging, perseverance will lead you to success.”
