HIGH POINT, N.C., Aug. 6, 2025 – Jon Gordon, the 18-time bestselling author who has served as a consultant for top CEOs, Fortune 500 companies and professional sports teams, is the latest global leader to join High Point University’s Access to Innovators Program. He will mentor students as HPU’s Positive Leadership and Performance Expert in Residence.
Gordon brings his passion for developing positive leaders and helping them elevate their performances to his new role at HPU. He is considered one of the top leadership authors in the world with 32 books, including 18 bestsellers and five children’s books. In 2007, he published “The Energy Bus,” which has sold more than 3 million copies and has inspired readers to approach life with a positive, forward-thinking mindset. His newest book, “The 7 Commitments of a Great Team,” was released on May 20.
“At High Point University, we challenge our students to be the next generation of leaders who change the world for the better,” HPU President Nido Qubein said. “I’m excited for Jon Gordon to share his insights on developing positive, highly productive leaders with our students.”
Gordon has served as a keynote speaker for numerous Fortune 500 companies, including Campbell’s Soup, Dell Technologies, Truist Bank, Publix and Southwest Airlines. In addition, he has worked as a consultant for more than a dozen professional and college sports teams, including the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams, the NBA’s Miami Heat, Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers and the Clemson University football team.
Gordon reaches large audiences every week through his talks, podcast, books and various media appearances, including as a guest on NBC’s “TODAY” show and “FOX & Friends.” He earned a Bachelor of Science in human ecology from Cornell University and a Master of Arts in teaching from Emory University.
