How HPU helped you get there: “The skills I learned at HPU has been extremely beneficial to me even getting the interview for this job. The speakers at HPU were my favorite part because you got to listen to some extremely influential people in business that helped me understand how to leverage my time in college to becoming the best version of myself so I can work at some of the fastest growing companies in the world.”
How you used the Office of Career & Professional Development: “I constantly went to CPD for resume checking at the start of my college career just to make sure it was a good template to send into Fortune 500 companies since they usually get so many applicants that they need to implement AI so it can better widdle down the applicants.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU: “David Kame, Professor of the Practice of Management had a lasting impact on me. He approached the classroom like a family instead of like school, I bet every one of his students would feel comfortable reaching out to him at any time about anything. Professor Kame had a lot of real world experience so he was able to share that with us while teaching us in the classroom. After I got my job he even reached out on LinkedIn and congratulated me and even brought up a personal story about a project I did in his class and why he knew I would be successful from that.”
Most impactful moment at HPU: “After Marc Randolph gave a talk to us this past year I got a chance to pick his brain a little after and it really was crazy to me that the literal co-founder of Netflix was willing to sit down and talk with me even though he is such a busy guy. HPU brings in great speakers that are really willing to help our students.”
Advice for underclassmen: “Utilize what HPU gives you! Everything is there for a reason, take advantage of it. The speakers, learning labs, clubs, everything. Other schools don’t offer you this.”
