Post-graduation plans: Ashley will be starting her career as an Omni-Channel Coordinator for Noble Food and Pursuits in Charlotte, North Carolina. As an Omni-Channel Coordinator, she will oversee all first-party and third-party delivery operations, create and manage all promotional campaigns, track and analyze sales performance and contribute to social media strategy and content.
How HPU helped you get there: “High Point University consistently challenged and motivated me to become the best version of myself. I was fortunate to be involved in a variety of opportunities that played a key role in shaping both my personal and professional growth. One of the most impactful experiences was being a Leadership Fellow, which greatly prepared me for my current role. It helped me develop the confidence and decision-making skills necessary to lead initiatives and make strategic decisions within our marketing department.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU: “Professor Parker, Adjunct Instructor for the Accounting and Finance Department was my absolute favorite professor at HPU and my most impactful mentor. I had the privilege of taking both Accounting 1 and 2 with him over two semesters. He generously wrote my letter of recommendation and was always available to offer guidance and support. Beyond academics, he provided valuable advice for the next chapter of my life and consistently demonstrated kindness and genuine care, making a lasting impact on me both personally and professionally.”
Most impactful moment at HPU: “My most impactful moment at HPU was serving as a Siegfried Leadership Fellow and earning certificates. I grew significantly as a leader from freshman to senior year, and it’s reflected in my career.”
How has HPU’s inspiring environment contributed to your success? “High Point University’s inspiring environment has played a crucial role in my success by fostering a culture of support, motivation and high expectations. The campus community encourages students to pursue excellence while providing the resources and mentorship needed to overcome challenges. This positive atmosphere helped me develop confidence, resilience and a growth mindset, all of which have been essential as I work toward my career and personal goals.”
What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success? “Leadership, communication, adaptability, professionalism and collaboration are some of the key life skills I developed at High Point University and continue to apply in my career today.”
What are the values and virtues HPU’s campus helped you develop that you’ll take with you after graduation? “Integrity, a strong work ethic and adaptability are key values I developed at High Point University that have been essential in my post-graduate life. Every work environment is different, so having the ability to understand and apply these values has helped me navigate new challenges, build trust and grow professionally.”
Advice for underclassmen: “First, enjoy every moment and take advantage of as many career-related speakers and events as you can. Success starts with you—you’ll need to put in consistent effort to land a job, especially in today’s challenging market. Set a daily goal to apply to at least 10 jobs, and remember that eventually, one will work out. The process can be long and sometimes discouraging, but don’t lose motivation or get discouraged if you don’t get every opportunity. Trust that everything happens for a reason, and the right job will come your way. Lastly, I’m proud of you!”
