HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct. 14, 2025 – Students who are admitted and enroll as freshmen at High Point University in the fall of 2026 will be eligible to earn a tuition-free master’s degree, a savings of up to $80,000.
After completing their undergraduate degrees at HPU, members of the Class of 2030 can apply to one of 10 master’s degree programs at the university for $0 in tuition. These programs include a Master of Business Administration, more commonly known as an MBA, as well as master’s degree programs in communication, education, science and healthcare.
Tuition will be free for students who live on HPU’s campus while enrolled in these graduate programs. Students who live elsewhere and complete their master’s degrees online will also be eligible to receive 50% off their tuition. All these master’s degrees can be completed in two years or less.
The HPU master’s degree programs that incoming freshmen can apply to with no charge for tuition include:
- Master of Business Administration
- Master of Business Administration in Business Analytics
- Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management
- Master of Business Administration in Supply Chain Management
- Master of Arts in Communication and Business Leadership
- Master of Education in Elementary Education
- Master of Education in Special Education
- Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences
- Master of Science in Athletic Training
- Master of Healthcare Administration
“HPU is the Premier Life Skills University, and we are committed to preparing our students to lead lives of success and significance,” said HPU President Dr. Nido Qubein. “The tuition-free master’s degree is one of many benefits that give HPU graduates distinction in the marketplace.”
Based on the average cost for a student to earn a master’s degree, HPU’s tuition-free graduate programs can save incoming freshmen and their families approximately $40,000 to $80,000.
This opportunity for incoming freshmen expands upon HPU’s first tuition-free graduate school program, which started in the fall of 2020 with a tuition-free Master of Arts in Communication and Business Leadership program available to the Class of 2020. The program was launched as a benefit for those seniors at the time who had their senior year of college interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic and who graduated into an uncertain job market.
The response from students and families in the Class of 2020 was positive. The university continued offering the tuition-free master’s degree and later expanded the opportunities.
Since then, 836 students have graduated from HPU’s tuition-free M.A. in Communication and Business Leadership program alone, including Grant Hines, a native of Owings Mills, Maryland. He immediately enrolled in graduate school after earning his Bachelor of Arts in communication in 2023, and he graduated from HPU with his master’s degree the following year.
“I know that I’m ahead of the curve compared to most college graduates because of the skills and culture at HPU,” said Hines, who began his career as a desk assistant at NBC News in Washington, D.C. after completing the program. “My leadership, work ethic and passion for journalism have grown stronger because of HPU’s dedication to excellence and the amazing people who make up our campus community.”
Graduates with a master’s degree typically find higher-paying jobs faster than graduates with a bachelor’s or associate degree. Data shows employees with a graduate degree earn, on average, $17,000 more per year than individuals with only an undergraduate degree.
