Most impactful mentor at HPU: “Daniel Hall, Dean of the School of Business, has been my most impactful mentor at HPU. He guided me through the internship process and taught my Breaking Into Home Furnishings class, which truly sparked my passion for the industry and gave me the confidence to pursue it as a career.”

Most impactful moment at HPU: “My most impactful moment at HPU was gaining real-life experience at the furniture market through the university. That opportunity opened my eyes to the scale of the industry and allowed me to step into the field I plan to dedicate my life to, first by working the market and now through my internship at the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame.”

What has your internship experience been like and how is it preparing you for your future? “My internship at the Home Furnishings Hall of Fame has been an incredible experience so far. It’s preparing me for the future by strengthening my professional skills, expanding my network and giving me a deeper understanding of the field I want to build my career in.”

How has HPU’s inspiring environment contributed to your success? “The overall campus environment constantly inspires me to grow. Whether it’s working in beautiful learning spaces or being surrounded by passionate classmates and mentors, the atmosphere motivates me to put my best work forward and believe in myself.”

I have learned how to collaborate effectively, balance multiple responsibilities and approach challenges with a positive mindset. All of these are skills that I will carry with me throughout my career and life.”

What are the values and virtues HPU’s campus helped you develop that you’ll take with you after graduation? “HPU has helped me embrace creativity, curiosity and collaboration as core values in both my work and daily life. The campus community has shown me the importance of staying open-minded, encouraging others and approaching every project with passion and purpose.”

Advice for underclassmen: “My advice for underclassmen is to take advantage of every opportunity HPU offers. Whether it’s leadership roles, networking events, or hands-on experiences. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, ask questions and build relationships, because those are the experiences that will set you apart and help you succeed.”
