HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 16, 2025 – High Point University faculty and staff in the Nido R. Qubein School of Communication provided Christmas gifts for local children through their annual Operation Elf tradition.

The faculty and staff purchased presents that included toys, books, clothes, sports equipment and gift cards. The NQSC presents were delivered on Dec. 11 to the families of nine children that are being served by the Guilford County Family Justice Center.

“Every year our faculty and staff look forward to the holiday season and to the opportunity to give back to our High Point community,” said Dr. Nahed Eltantawy, dean of the School of Communication. “This is a season for sharing and giving, and we are grateful for the chance to support families in meaningful ways. Our hope is always to bring a sense of joy to as many people as possible.”

Hannah Mould, a child trauma specialist coordinator with the Family Justice Center, said the nonprofit staff and clients are grateful for the School of Communication’s ongoing support. She added that the support has provided “a beacon of hope” for the families over the years.

“We are so grateful for our partnership with HPU and the generosity of the School of Communication’s faculty and staff,” Mould said. “Our families are immensely grateful,  especially this year as some of them have lost their job or are experiencing additional financial struggles. Providing gifts for their household during the holidays not only brings them lots of joy and hope during an otherwise difficult time, but it also meets vital needs for growing kids.

“One of our families shared this appreciation with me yesterday: ‘I cannot thank you enough for the Christmas gifts. They have really made our holidays bright this year. I appreciate everything you all do for our family through everything we have been through.’”
