HIGH POINT, N.C., Jan. 8, 2026 – Nearly 33,000 community members enjoyed the sights and sounds of the holiday season while driving through High Point University’s campus during HPU’s 14th annual Christmas Drive celebration.
This marks the largest number of guests to attend an HPU Christmas community event since the university started hosting the free event more than a decade ago. This year’s Christmas Drive was held for eight consecutive nights, from Dec. 20-27.

The Christmas Drive has grown in popularity as thousands of community members get into the holiday spirit every December by observing more than 100,000 Christmas lights, 235 large nutcrackers and the state’s tallest Christmas tree at 70 feet on HPU’s campus. They also observe giant wreaths, a life-size Nativity scene and a 58-foot Christmas tree.
As guests make their way through campus, they tune to a special radio station to listen to Christmas carols performed by the talented students and faculty from HPU’s Department of Music.

“Christmas is a special time at High Point University, and we look forward every year to welcoming thousands of families and friends to our campus to celebrate the holiday season,” HPU President Nido Qubein said. “The Christmas Drive is one of many ways that we bring our community together to spread joy, peace and fellowship.”
The Christmas Drive capped a month of holiday-themed events on HPU’s campus. Nearly 1,000 community members rang in the holiday season at HPU’s 54th Annual Christmas Prayer Breakfast at the Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena and Conference Center on Dec. 5.
