Major: Sports Management; minors in Business Administration and Legal Studies
Internship: Over the summer of 2025, Nicholas interned as a part of the Organized Team Activities (OTA) for the New Orleans Saints in New Orleans, Louisiana. Nicholas was grouped with the permanent interns at the Saints, where he assisted in several areas including security, media support, and other tasks as needed to support the Saints staff.
How HPU helped you get there: “HPU was very helpful with professional development assistance and having a strong, complete LinkedIn presence.”
How did you use the Office of Career & Professional Development: “Initially I used this department to reach out to the contact I was given at the New Orleans Saints. I contacted them again regarding an opportunity with the Greensboro Swarm and they assisted with email communication and securing an internship.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU: “Dr. Dean Smith, assistant professor of journalism, because he assisted me in coming to High Point University. We met during Presidential Scholars Interviews and I have since taken some of the impactful classes he teaches.”
Most impactful moment at HPU: “Presidential Scholars Interview Weekend allowed me the opportunity to make it financially possible to attend HPU. I also met my most impactful mentor, Dr. Smith too.“
Advice for underclassmen: “Network as much as possible and connect with good, trustworthy people. Connections through others gave me both opportunities with these two sports teams.”
