How HPU helped you get there: “Different business and finance classes gave me a great knowledge base and prepared me to be able to talk to people in my industry. Also, the professional development classes I was required to take helped me with forming my resume, cover letters, LinkedIn profile and helped with preparing for interviews.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU: “Early on in my time at HPU, Dr. Jo Lacy, assistant professor of accounting, reassured me that I had selected the right major and was going to do very well, which was very encouraging to hear.”
Most impactful moment at HPU: “I would say the most impactful moment for me was this past fall break when I had the opportunity to go on the HPU In The City trip to New York City where I got to meet and learn from industry professionals and HPU alumni about their experiences in their respective companies and industries.”
How has HPU’s inspiring environment contributed to your success? “I have made many lifelong friendships and participated in so much during my time at HPU that have made me be able to grow into the person I am today.”
How has the Office of Career & Professional Development helped you succeed? “They were very helpful with improving my resume and my LinkedIn profile.”
What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success? “Life skills that I’ve developed are public speaking, dining etiquette, punctuality and the ability to work with others in group settings.”
What are the values and virtues HPU’s campus helped you develop that you’ll take with you after graduation? “God, Family, and Country.”
Advice for underclassmen: “Take advantage of every opportunity, even if it is something you don’t think is for you, because you never know what that opportunity could teach you or who you might meet in the process. Summer internships help a lot as well.”
