Most impactful mentor at HPU: “Dr. Bob Hirth, associate professor of entrepreneurship, has been my most impactful mentor at HPU because he has supported my growth both academically and personally. I had the rare privilege of taking his class during my freshman year, and he immediately provided a grounded, realistic perspective on transitioning into college life, especially within HPU’s unique environment. Since then, he has continued to guide me through important academic and professional decisions, offering advice not just about succeeding at HPU but also about preparing for opportunities beyond graduation. His genuine belief in my potential and his consistent encouragement have made a lasting impact on my confidence and development.”
Most impactful moment at HPU: “My most impactful moment at HPU was participating in a Maymester in Sydney, Australia for a course on global business. This experience showcased the incredible opportunities HPU provides its students, opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom. Immersing myself in a new culture helped me grow academically through hands-on global business learning, professionally through company visits and real-world exposure, and independently by navigating life in a completely new environment. It was a defining experience that broadened my perspective and strengthened my confidence in my ability to thrive in unfamiliar settings.”

Advice for underclassmen: “The best advice I can give to underclassmen is to present yourselves as well-rounded individuals who lead with both character and effort. Your HPU education is important, but employers also look for strong leadership qualities, a positive and authentic personality, and a proven willingness to work hard. After graduation, many people will have similar academic credentials, but those who stand out are the ones who can contribute to a team, adapt to different environments and embody the company’s culture. Once your stellar résumé gets you the interview, let your enthusiasm, professionalism and genuine personality shine, that’s what truly wins them over.”
