“Meg O’Donnell, my Student Success Coach, is the most impactful person. She was there for me from the beginning. She guided me, helped me and always encouraged me to take a risk and be my best.”

Most impactful moment at HPU:

“I was very nervous at first moving from Nevada all the way to North Carolina and not knowing a soul. Through the classroom sizes, staff and environment I was able to feel right at home in a short amount of time. Now I have the courage to move anywhere and show up.”

How has HPU’s inspiring environment contributed to your success?

“The environment played a huge role in my success because it constantly challenged me to think bigger and operate at a higher standard. Being surrounded by an inspiring campus and a culture focused on growth created a sense of expectation.”

What are the life skills HPU helped you develop that prepared you for long-term success?

“At HPU, I developed life skills that go far beyond the classroom, especially confidence, communication and professionalism. I learned how to present myself with clarity, advocate for my ideas and build meaningful relationships that create real opportunities. The environment also pushed me to take initiative, manage my time effectively and think strategically about my future. Those skills have been foundational in setting me up for long-term success and growth.”

What are the values and virtues HPU’s campus helped you develop that you’ll take with you after graduation?

“The campus culture helped me develop values I’ll carry long after graduation, especially integrity, discipline and a strong sense of personal responsibility.”

Advice for underclassmen:

“Find balance. Studying comes first in this balance for a short season of your life. Putting in the work will pay off. Find a beautiful spot on campus and get locked in.”
