How HPU helped you get there:
“HPU provided countless opportunities that allowed me to gain real-world experience and grow as a journalist. From writing about the Panthers’ historic March Madness run to learning through hands-on experiences beyond the classroom, High Point prepared me to step into my career with confidence when covering the people and moments that make sports so special.”
How did you use the Office of Career & Professional Development?
“The Office of Career & Professional Development provided resources that allowed me to feel like the best version of myself in the job search.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU:
“Rather than one individual, my most impactful mentors were the faculty members throughout High Point University’s sports media and journalism department. Each of them contributed in their own unique way, leaving a lasting impact on my life and career, and that unwavering support and genuine care for students is what makes the High Point experience so special.”
Most impactful moment at HPU:
“My most impactful moment at High Point was having a front-row seat to the amazing growth and success of Panther athletics over the past four years. Being able to share those moments with the High Point community made me appreciate the power of journalism and constantly reminded me that some of the most meaningful memories are the ones you get to preserve for others.”
Advice for underclassmen:
“My biggest piece of advice is be brave and take risks, even if they seem scary. I never would have imagined that life after graduation would bring me to North Dakota, but saying yes to that opportunity turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Some of the most rewarding experiences come from stepping outside your comfort zone and trusting that the unfamiliar can lead you exactly where you’re meant to be.”
