“Some life skills that I learned at HPU that have helped me grow as a student are emotional intelligence and motivation. I learned these skills through the Life Skills Certifications as well as through my professors, peers and all of the staff here at HPU. The way people conduct themselves on campus pushed me to grow and conduct myself in a way that accurately represents High Point University.”
Most impactful mentor at HPU:
“The most impactful mentor I have had at HPU is my Business Ethics professor, Caroline Mobley. Professor Mobley has been an impactful mentor because she pushed me to shift my thinking early on in my freshman year at HPU. She encouraged me to declare a minor in Philosophy and helped me explore different career paths that I would be a good fit for. When we discussed corporate strategy, I knew that it was the right fit for me. Even though I am no longer taking her class, she still reaches out to discuss my goals, ideas and professional development.”
Most impactful moment at HPU:
“The most impactful moment I have had at HPU was Convocation. After that moment, I truly stepped out of my shell and began to grow. It signified a brand-new beginning full of opportunities and growth. That moment forced me to grow in ways I never imagined before. Hearing Dr. Qubein speak and welcome the Class of 2029 was truly inspirational and enjoyable.”
Advice for underclassmen:
“The biggest advice I would give underclassmen would be to get involved in things you may not instantly be interested in. It is the best way to meet new people and learn about yourself.”
