HPU to Provide Free Dental Care on Veterans Day to Honor Those Who Served

HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct. 29, 2026 – High Point University’s Workman School of Dental Medicine will offer free dental care to military veterans on Wednesday, Nov. 11, as a way to thank those men and women who have served this country on Veterans Day.

Adults who served in the military are eligible to receive free same-day dental care at four HPU Health locations in the Piedmont Triad region. Those dental practices are located in High Point, Greensboro, Winston-Salem and Lewisville. Individuals must show proof of military service to receive free dental care.

HPU dental school faculty, staff and students will provide veterans with free oral exams, cleanings, fillings and extractions. Treatment will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 11. No appointments will be accepted.

Approximately 180 dental students are expected to volunteer at the four HPU Health locations that will provide free dental care on Veterans Day. First-, second- and third-year dental students will serve in a variety of roles throughout the day, and another 60 faculty and staff members from the dental school are expected to volunteer at the dental practices.

“Those who have served our nation deserve our deepest gratitude and our very best care,” said Dr. Ali Shazib, dean of the Workman School of Dental Medicine. “By placing veterans at the center of our CARE on Veterans Day, our learners, faculty and staff are bringing our mission to life through compassion, service and a shared commitment to improving the health of our community.”

In addition, HPU will honor hundreds of men and women who served this country during its 16th Annual Veterans Day Celebration in the Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena and Conference Center on Friday, Nov. 6.

HPU’s Annual Veterans Day Celebration is believed to be the largest on a college campus. Approximately 2,500 people attended last year’s Veterans Day Celebration.

The event is free and open to all veterans and community members who wish to honor them. Register to attend the event by visiting www.highpoint.edu/community/veterans-day-2026 or calling Campus Concierge at 336-841-4636.
