FAQ for Commencement

The undergraduate ceremonies will be broken into 2 ceremonies, a 9am and 2:30pm ceremony. The ceremonies will be separated by Academic School.

9:00AM Ceremony on Saturday, May 2:

Tickets for graduates and guests are required for for all events

Graduate Commencement Ceremony – Tickets required. Each graduate is allowed a maximum of 15 guest tickets. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis. A ticket does not guarantee a seat inside the Qubein Arena. Overflow seating will be provided.

Baccalaureate – (Undergraduate Degree Students Only) – 2 guest tickets. A ticket does not guarantee a seat inside the church sanctuary. Overflow seating will be provided in the church fellowship hall.

Undergraduate Commencement Ceremonies – Tickets required. Each graduate is allowed a maximum of 7 guest tickets. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis. A ticket does not guarantee a seat inside the Qubein Arena. Overflow seating will be provided.

Tickets are required for guests over the age of 2. To maintain the respectful and reflective tone of this formal occasion, children under the age of 5 will be welcome in the family viewing area rather than the main ceremony location.

Graduates will be emailed a registration link to their HPU email address by the end of March with the option to register for tickets to the Commencement Exercises and events. Graduates must register for tickets.

Students who need additional tickets to the ticketed events are encouraged to ask classmates, who do not need all tickets, for any extras. Students are expected to make these arrangements themselves.

Caps, gowns and hoods may be picked up during normal business hours at the campus bookstore in Slane beginning March 4, 2026. Pre-order is not necessary. Gown sizes are based on height and weight. If you are not on campus, please call the campus bookstore to reserve your regalia.

There is not a rehearsal. The Tassel name pronunciation form will be available on March 4. Graduates should arrive to the Qubein Center at least 45 minutes before their ceremony in order to be placed in the line of march by Junior Marshals. Graduates will receive a card that will be used to read their name as the cross the stage.

Your diploma will be mailed following the ceremony by early summer.

Parking for the Graduate Commencement Ceremony will be available in the Qubein Center parking lot located at 1315 N. University Parkway, Lot A/B across from the Hayworth Fine Arts Center and the parking deck located behind Congdon Hall. Shuttle service is only available from lot A/B and the parking deck.

Accessible parking for guests with state issued placards or license plates is available on a first come, first served basis from Parkway Commons located at 1300 N. University Parkway, High Point. Accessible vehicles will be provided to transport guests to the Qubein Center.

Accessible seating will be available on a first come, first served basis in the Qubein Center for guests in wheelchairs, or those that have extreme difficulty walking. As accessible seating is limited, we ask that the guest needing accessible seating is only accompanied by one other guest.

Parking for the 9:00am and 2:30pm Commencement ceremonies will be available on a first come, first served basis on campus from the following parking areas; the Qubein Center parking lot located at 1315 N. University Parkway, Lot A/B, and the parking deck. Guests should enter campus from the following entrances; University Parkway and Innovation Way, N. Centennial Street and Qubein Ave, and N. Centennial Street and Patriots Way. Shuttle service to the Qubein Center will only be available from Lot A/B and the parking deck.

Graduates participating in the Commencement Ceremony that live off campus may park in the Caffey parking lot. They should enter campus from N. Centennial Street at Patriots Way by the Centennial town homes.

Accessible parking for guests with state issued placards or license plates is available on a first come, first served basis from Parkway Commons located at 1300 N. University Parkway, High Point. Accessible vehicles will be provided to transport guests to the Qubein Center.

Accessible seating will be available on a first come, first served basis in the Qubein Center for guests in wheelchairs, or those that have extreme difficulty walking. As accessible seating is limited, we ask that the guest needing accessible seating is only accompanied by one other guest.

Shuttle service to the Qubein Center will only be available from Lot A/B and the parking deck. The Qubein Center parking lot is a walking lot only.

We do not supply wheelchairs, walkers, or other medical/mobility equipment: In the event you have a family member or guest who needs personal medical equipment, they will need to bring their own, or procure a rental.

Beginning March 23, 2026, at 12:00pm, students or parents may call to  make reservations on a first-come, first served basis for 1924 PRIME, Alo, and Kazoku for April 30 – May 1. Meals will be charged at $65 per person and must be paid on a Student Passport with general account funds.
