Robbins started at Cisco as an account manager in 1997 and worked his way up the ranks. Prior to being named its CEO, he led the company’s global sales organization and held leadership roles in regional sales. He has focused on helping companies, cities and countries around the world look to Cisco to connect, secure and automate their organizations for a digital-first world. As CEO, Robbins has championed initiatives at Cisco to enhance employee experience and culture. Under his leadership, the technology conglomerate earned the top spot on Fortune’s annual 100 Best Companies to Work For list for three consecutive years, from 2021-23. It was also named #1 on People’s annual Companies that Care list.

Tickets

The Graduate  Commencement Ceremony is for High Point University doctoral and masters candidates for graduation, their families and guests, university faculty, staff, students and special guests. It is not open to the general public.

Complimentary tickets are required for this event. All guests are required to have a ticket. Information on ticket quantities will be released at a later date.

General Information

Appropriate dress for this event is business attire.

Doors to the Qubein Center will open for guests at 2:00pm.

Parking for the Graduate Commencement Ceremony will be available in the Qubein Center parking lot located at 1315 N. University Parkway, Lot A/B across from the Hayworth Fine Arts Center and the parking deck located behind Congdon Hall. Shuttle service will be provided from Lot A/B and the parking deck. The Qubein Center parking lot is a walking lot.

Accessible parking for guests with state issued placards or license plates is available on a first come, first served basis from Parkway Commons located at 1300 N. University Parkway, High Point.  Accessible vehicles will be provided to transport guests to the Qubein Center.

 

Accessible seating will be available on a first come, first served basis in the Qubein Center for guests in wheelchairs, or those that have extreme difficulty walking. As accessible seating is limited, we ask that the guest needing accessible seating is only accompanied by one other guest.

We do not supply wheelchairs, walkers, or other medical/mobility equipment: In the event you have a family member or guest who needs personal medical equipment, they will need to bring their own, or procure a rental.

Please cooperate as HPU employs heightened security measures due to the renown of the Commencement speaker. Guests may be inconvenienced with additional security checks. Clear bags or small clutches only are allowed in the Qubein Center.

Thank you for being considerate and respectful of the ceremony. Please be respectful of this formal occasion and refrain from loud talking and other noises.

For the safety and security of graduates and guests, the following items are prohibited: glass containers, tobacco products, illegal drugs, explosives/fireworks, laser pointers, weapons of any kinds, including those carried with a permit, bags larger than 12 x 12, backpacks, noisemakers, airhorns, balloons, signs and posters, coolers, and pets (excluding registered service animals).

Graduates and guests should plan to stay until the ceremony concludes. Leaving causes disruption and noise during this formal ceremony.

As each graduate is handed his/her diploma, a picture will be taken by a professional photographer with Photo Specialties. A free color proof will be sent to your current mailing address, including a password for online viewing.  You are under no obligation to purchase prints.  To receive an email notification the moment your photos are online, please visit www.photospecialties.com to pre-register.  If you do not receive a proof within a week of the ceremony, please contact [email protected] or call 919-967-9576.

Photographing candidates for graduation during the Graduation Ceremony is permissible. The platform area is restricted and may not be used for photographs. Please be respectful of boundaries; they have been put in place to prevent injury.

For safety and for the courtesy of others, guests should remain in their seats and should not approach the stage for photos.  Please do not bring personal drones to the Ceremony.

Diplomas will be mailed to graduates.
