Students who successfully complete President’s Seminar on Life Skills will qualify for the Certification in Foundational Life Skills. This experiential seminar, led by High Point University President Dr. Nido Qubein and other industry leaders, provides a unique opportunity for students to develop personal, academic, and professional competencies essential for long-term success. Through exposure to world-class thought leaders, engaging lectures, and one-on-one coaching, students gain foundational skills in leadership, growth mindset, communication, and resilience. This Course is Exclusively Open to High Point University First-Year Students

Overview:

Students attend weekly seminars hosted by Dr. Qubein and renowned guest lecturers on topics ranging from leadership to financial literacy and overcoming adversity.

Students meet monthly with their assigned Student Success Coach to personalize their growth journey, reflect on seminar lessons, and develop strategic academic and life goals.

    • Academic and career planning

To qualify for the Certification in Foundational Life Skills, students must:

  • Enroll in and pass Experiential Learning 1101: President’s Seminar on Life Skills
  • Maintain consistent attendance completing the course
  • Actively participate in seminar sessions and coaching meetings
  • Complete all required assignments
