Welcome to the High Point University Workman School of Dental Medicine.
Dentistry is advancing at an extraordinary pace. Digital workflows are transforming how care is planned and delivered, patients are presenting with increasingly complex medical needs, and the relationship between oral health and overall health is becoming more important than ever. Today’s dental professionals must be prepared not only to master clinical care, but also to adapt, collaborate, innovate, and lead.
Our postgraduate dental programs were intentionally developed in response to this evolving landscape.
Through our Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program, residents expand their clinical judgment, technical capabilities, and confidence while caring for diverse patient populations in a comprehensive, team-based environment. The program prepares dentists to manage complex cases, coordinate care across disciplines, and deliver exceptional patient experiences with skill and compassion.
Our Digital Dentistry Program prepares clinicians to lead in the technologies reshaping modern practice. Through advanced education in digital scanning, design, manufacturing, artificial intelligence, guided workflows, and emerging clinical applications, fellows learn to translate innovation into more precise, efficient, and patient-centered care.
Our Oral Oncology Program addresses one of the most important intersections of dentistry and medicine. Fellows develop advanced knowledge and experience in the prevention, recognition, diagnosis, and management of oral complications associated with cancer and its treatment. Working within interdisciplinary healthcare environments, our fellows learn to care for medically complex patients with scientific rigor, empathy, and a deep commitment to whole-person health.
Although each program offers a distinct area of focus, they share a common purpose: to prepare professionals who are ready to elevate care and shape the future of oral health. Participants learn within a culture that values clinical excellence, evidence-based decision-making, collaboration, innovation, and service.
At the WSDM, our faculty and staff are committed to developing healthcare leaders who communicate effectively, lead with integrity, remain intellectually curious, and understand the responsibility they carry to their patients, teams, communities, and the profession.
At the Workman School of Dental Medicine, we are guided by one enduring principle: putting the people who need our care at the center of everything we do.
We welcome you to explore our postdoctoral programs and discover how your next stage of training can expand not only what you are able to do, but also the difference you are prepared to make.
