Haley Moloney

Haley Moloney is an Instructor of Interior Design in the Hayworth School of Arts and Design at High Point University. She holds a Master of Arts in Historic Preservation and Preservation Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Kent State University. Her interdisciplinary education connects interior design with preservation planning through the thoughtful documentation, stewardship, and continued use of historic buildings and interior spaces. Ms. Moloney is a preservationist, architectural historian, project manager, and interior designer with experience in architectural research, conditions assessments, preservation plans, National Register and local landmark nominations, community engagement, construction documentation, and materials management. She has contributed to more than 20 preservation projects, with a particular interest in community-based work that brings greater visibility to underrepresented histories.

Ms. Moloney teaches interior design courses in materials and methods, design history, specifications, technical documentation, and professional practice. Her teaching connects classroom learning with the realities of professional design work while encouraging students to consider ethical sourcing, material performance, environmental impact, cultural context, and the long-term stewardship of the built environment. Outside the classroom, Ms. Moloney serves as Principal and Project Manager of Bee’s Knees Historic Preservation Consulting and as an at-large member of the Guilford County Historic Preservation Commission. She also shares her work through professional conferences, university lectures, museum programs, and community events. Her scholarly interests include experiential learning, culturally responsive pedagogy, and teaching practices that help students understand the relationship between design decisions, historical context, and community identity. Ms. Moloney enjoys reading, writing, visiting historic places, and spending time with her husband and their three sons. Together, they enjoy a chaotic homestead lifestyle with an ever-growing collection of dogs, cats, and other much-loved animals.
