Professor Jamie Burgess-Flowers is an Assistant Professor and the Director of Integrated and Applied Behavioral Sciences at the Workman School of Dental Medicine. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Originally from Mebane, North Carolina, she became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2019 and brings a wealth of experience in supporting students’ personal and professional development.
Professor Burgess-Flowers identifies most closely with the “Advocate” aspect of the Workman School of Dental Medicine CARE Model, which drew her to High Point University. With her background in interprofessional healthcare teams, she is passionate about preparing well-rounded dental professionals who prioritize the whole-person health of both them and their patients. Through her teaching and leadership, she fosters a supportive learning environment that emphasizes empathy, collaboration, and holistic care.
