Mr. Meiners is Manager of the Caine Conservatory in the Wanek School of Natural Sciences at High Point University.  Before moving to Greensboro, NC, Mr. Meiners completed his B.S. in Public Administration and Biological Sciences at the University of Central Florida.  He has held positions at North Carolina State University in the College of Natural Sciences within the Departments of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management, Forestry and Environmental Resources and Forest Biotech Group as well as in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences’ Department of English before continuing a position in administration in at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill’s College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Public Policy.

 

In addition to his career in academics, he has developed, owned and operated several successful businesses in various industries, including horticultural services through his company, Glasshouse Management, LLC.

 

Mr. Meiners provides leadership to HPU students, staff, and community volunteers, and collaborates with botanical experts to further Conservatory’s mission. Mr. Meiners oversees the day-to-day operation of the Caine Conservatory, in addition to hosting tours, educational programs, and special events.

 

As a biophile, he is devoted to the art and science of plant cultivation. Over a lifetime, he has developed an in-depth passion for plant life which was instilled in him by multiple generations of family.  He maintains thriving environments while continually exploring innovative techniques and openly shares his love for plants with others.
