Christine Bowen Stevens has performed, taught, and choreographed in various classical and contemporary venues throughout the eastern United States, performing professionally for various dance companies for years. She received her dance training from Duke University, the North Carolina School of the Arts, and holds an MFA in Dance and Choreography from UNC-Greensboro. She has served as a dance educator in public schools, higher education, and the private sector for over 25 years. She has taught master classes at University of Vermont, American College Dance Association Conferences, National High School Dance Festivals, and Southeast Committee of the Cecchetti Council of America’s Ballet Workshops. Christine has presented work in the Small Plates Choreography festival, in New York, with Queen City Jazz Company, and the North Carolina Dance Festival. She currently teaches various dance technique and theory classes along with choreographing for various dance performances on campus. Her movement researched is based off efficiency and clarity of technique; achieved through repetition, pattern training, and releasing of unnecessary tensions. Along with her dance training, Christine is a Pilates instructor and loves to share her passion of finding balance physically and mentally.
