Dr. Amna Hasan serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Oral Medicine, Oncology, and Orofacial Pain at the Workman School of Dental Medicine, High Point University. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain, with advanced expertise in diagnosing and managing complex orofacial pain conditions, temporomandibular disorders (TMD), neuropathic pain, oral mucosal diseases, and dental sleep medicine. Through her clinical, academic, and leadership roles, Dr. Hasan is committed to advancing patient care and preparing future dental professionals within High Point University’s collaborative and experiential learning environment.
Dr. Hasan has held academic appointments at East Carolina University, the University of Pikeville, and High Point University. Her work integrates clinical practice, teaching, and interdisciplinary collaboration, with a focus on improving outcomes for patients with chronic orofacial conditions. She has also served in key leadership roles in interprofessional education and program development, including Director of Interprofessional Education at East Carolina University and Clinical Director at the Appalachian Center for Preventive Medicine. In addition, she has contributed to CODA-aligned curriculum development and continuing education initiatives that support innovation in dental education.
Dr. Hasan currently serves as Chair-Elect of the Oral Health Academy of the National Academies of Practice and remains actively engaged in advancing interprofessional collaboration, education, and research in orofacial pain and oral-systemic health. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys walking, playing basketball, listening to music, and reading, reflecting a commitment to balance, wellness, and lifelong learning.
