Dr. Amy Farrar serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at the Workman School of Dental Medicine, where she provides compassionate, patient-centered care while mentoring future dental professionals. With a strong commitment to service and community-focused dentistry, she brings valuable clinical experience and leadership to High Point University’s experiential learning environment.
Dr. Farrar earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Originally from Durham, North Carolina, she developed an early passion for dentistry after witnessing how caring dental professionals could transform lives and relieve pain for those in need—an experience that inspired her lifelong commitment to the profession.
Throughout her career, Dr. Farrar has worked in private practice and in community-based care, where she felt called to serve underserved populations. She served as a Staff Dentist at a Federally Qualified Health Center in Henderson, North Carolina, and later as Dental Director, overseeing a multi-office dental department and leading efforts to expand access to quality oral healthcare. Her dedication to service and leadership reflects High Point University’s mission of preparing dentists who prioritize compassion, excellence, and community impact.
Dr. Farrar is an active member of the American Dental Association, National Dental Association, and the North Carolina Dental Society, and she consistently exceeds continuing education requirements to remain current with the latest advancements in dental technology and clinical care. At the Workman School of Dental Medicine, she is committed to shaping skilled, empathetic clinicians who are prepared to make a meaningful difference in the communities they serve.
