Dr. Iquebal Hasan serves as the Associate Dean of Postgraduate Dental Education and a Clinical Professor at High Point University’s Workman School of Dental Medicine. He completed his dental education in India before pursuing advanced postgraduate training in the United States, including two years of General Practice Residency and then specializing in Oral Medicine. His career has been defined by a passion for patient care, teaching, mentoring, and innovative leadership. At High Point University, Dr. Hasan provides strategic leadership for postgraduate education while helping shape innovative clinical programs that bridge dentistry and medicine.
Before joining the team at the Workman School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Hasan held numerous academic and leadership roles at leading institutions, including the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine, UNC Hospitals, and he served as the founding Dean of Academic Affairs at Tanner College of Dental Medicine, where he helped lead the school through its initial CODA accreditation.
Recognized nationally and internationally for his contributions to education, research, and patient care, his expertise includes oral oncology, autoimmune diseases, and oral mucosal disorders. Today, he is leading initiatives to expand hospital partnerships, develop new residency, fellowship, and master’s programs, establish a Diagnostic Center for Sjögren’s Syndrome, and advance collaborative research that will shape the future of healthcare.”
