Dr. Margrit Maggio serves as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Clinical Professor, and Director of Simulation Learning at the Workman School of Dental Medicine, where she provides strategic leadership for academic programs and advances innovative simulation-based education that prepares students for clinical excellence. With a strong commitment to developing practice-ready dentists, Dr. Maggio plays a key role in shaping curriculum, enhancing simulation learning environments, and fostering a culture of academic rigor and hands-on experiential training that reflects High Point University’s dedication to transformational education and student success.
Dr. Maggio earned her Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Dental/Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh and her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She is also a fellow of the American Dental Education Association Leadership Institute. With more than 20 years of experience as an academic clinical faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and over 30 years of clinical practice experience, Dr. Maggio brings deep expertise in haptics simulation in dentistry, restorative and operative dentistry, and practice readiness for dental students. Her leadership and experience continue to strengthen WSDM’s commitment to innovation, excellence, and preparing future dental professionals for the evolving landscape of oral healthcare.
Outside of her professional role, Dr. Maggio enjoys cooking, gardening, and horseback riding. Her favorite pastime is spending time at the beach, where she enjoys relaxing and recharging while embracing her love of the outdoors.
