Professor Kimberly Werth serves as Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean for Student and Professional Success at the Workman School of Dental Medicine, where she leads initiatives that support student well-being, professional development, and academic success. With a strong background in dental hygiene, counseling, and higher education, Professor Werth is dedicated to creating a supportive and student-centered environment that empowers learners to thrive both personally and professionally, reflecting High Point University’s commitment to holistic education and CARE-driven leadership.

 

Professor Werth earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and her Master of Arts in Community Counseling from the University of Detroit Mercy. A native of Michigan who has also lived in Florida and North Carolina, she brings more than 26 years of experience in dental hygiene and extensive experience in higher education, counseling, and student support services. She previously served as a faculty member at the University of Detroit Mercy and later as Director of Counseling and Student Development at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine, where she supported student wellness and professional growth while teaching counseling courses in the Counselor Education program.

 

A licensed counselor and active leader in professional organizations, Professor Werth has been involved with the American College Counseling Association, the American Counseling Association, and the North Carolina Licensed Professional Counseling Association, and previously served as President of the North Carolina College Counseling Association. She has presented at state and national conferences on behavioral science, student learning environments, tutoring models, and academic community collaboration. Through her work at WSDM, Professor Werth is passionate about fostering a culture of support, resilience, and success that helps students reach their full potential and prepares them for meaningful careers in dentistry.
