Dr. Shaiba Sandhu serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor and Program Director of the Oral Oncology Fellowship at the Workman School of Dental Medicine. Her work spans Oral Medicine, Orofacial Pain, Hospital Dentistry, and General Dentistry, where she is dedicated to advancing patient-centered care and specialized clinical training within High Point University’s collaborative and experiential learning environment.

 

Dr. Sandhu earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) from Gian Sagar Dental College, Baba Farid University in India, and her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry. She completed advanced graduate education in Oral Medicine and Orofacial Pain at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, with clinical training across Harvard-affiliated hospitals, including Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She is double board-certified in Oral Medicine and Orofacial Pain. Dr. Sandhu also holds a Master of Science in Higher Education from Purdue Global University, supporting her commitment to academic excellence and program development.

 

In addition to her role at High Point University, Dr. Sandhu has served as attending clinical faculty across multiple healthcare settings, including HPU Health, Novant Cancer Institute in Winston-Salem, and Atrium Advocate Health at High Point Medical Center. Her clinical and academic focus centers on managing complex oral conditions, oncology-related care, and orofacial pain, while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and advancing specialized dental education.

 

Through her leadership of the Oral Oncology Fellowship, Dr. Sandhu is committed to training the next generation of clinicians in comprehensive, evidence-based care. She brings a strong passion for innovation, education, and patient advocacy, helping to shape future leaders in oral medicine and oncology at the Workman School of Dental Medicine.
