Dr. Sonya Kalim serves as an Associate Professor and Clinical Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at the Workman School of Dental Medicine, where she leads clinical education and contributes to the advancement of diagnostic imaging and radiologic sciences. In her role at High Point University, she is dedicated to preparing students to deliver precise, evidence-based, and patient-centered care through innovative, technology-driven learning experiences.
Originally from Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, Dr. Kalim earned her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from King’s College and her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Temple University. She went on to complete a Master of Science and Specialty Certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at the University of Connecticut. Her clinical expertise is centered in oral and maxillofacial radiology, where she integrates advanced imaging techniques to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Dr. Kalim resonates strongly with the “Clinician” aspect of the CARE Model and is passionate about delivering high-quality, individualized patient care. She is particularly excited to contribute to High Point University’s innovative, integrated, patient-based curriculum and its collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to oral health education. She believes in providing personalized care tailored to each patient’s unique needs and preferences, ensuring the highest standard of clinical excellence.
