Dr. Rivin Perinchery, Assistant Professor of Economics, develops and conducts research in Microeconomic Theory, Experimental Economics, and Behavioral Economics to better understand strategic interaction in environments of asymmetric information. He is especially interested in how parties strategically signal and communicate with each other, carefully controlling and optimizing the flow of information. He also studies non-standard signals, the characteristics of frameworks which improve probabilistic reasoning, and the role of political messaging/communication in disaster mitigation.
Dr. Perinchery presents his work frequently at the Economic Science Association and the Southern Economic Association. Dr. Perinchery joined HPU in 2024 and will teach courses in both the undergraduate and MBA programs including courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and managerial economics.
For excellence in teaching, he was awarded the Thomas S. McCaleb award twice. For his scholarly work Dr. Perinchery was awarded the John and Hallie Quinn Fellowship in Experimental Economics and the James H. Gapinski Award.
Dr. Perinchery earned his Ph.D. and M.S in Economics from Florida State University. He also earned an undergraduate certificate in Entrepreneurship and his B.S. in Economics from the University of Wisconsin.
