Bio: I moved to North Carolina and joined the HPU family in the Fall of 2021. I was born and raised in Arkansas and completed my graduate studies in Texas. I am passionate about digital rhetoric, culture, and literacies especially where those topics converge with the ethics of writing in the digital sphere. I also research and teach professional communication, technical writing, and composition. At a recent conference, senior scholar Victor Villanueva asked, “Why be a teacher if you don’t have utopian hope?” (ATLA Conference, 2021). My utopian hope is that students will continue to find their voice and change the world through their writing! I was also once a Pog champion (bonus points if you know what that is without Googling it) of my hometown.
