Sydney Rushing serves as the Study Abroad & International Student Advisor at High Point University, where she is also a Designated School Official (DSO) for F-1 students and an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for J-1 students. In this role, Sydney acts as the primary advisor and main point of contact for students pursuing semester-long study abroad programs.
Passionate about global engagement, Sydney is dedicated to fostering a globally minded campus community. She supports both outbound study abroad students and incoming international students, helping them navigate their experiences with confidence and cultural awareness. Her work is driven by a commitment to intercultural understanding and student success abroad.
Sydney’s journey in international education began during her undergraduate studies, when she spent a year studying in the United Kingdom. After graduation, she lived and worked in the Middle East, further deepening her global perspective. Her travels and work have taken her to over 30 countries, experiences that continue to shape her holistic and student-centered approach to advising.
