Dr. Carlos Barrero serves as Clinical Professor of Prosthodontics and Advanced General Dentistry at the Workman School of Dental Medicine, where he brings extensive experience in prosthodontic care, dental implants, and advanced restorative dentistry to both the clinic and classroom. Through his teaching and clinical leadership, Dr. Barrero helps prepare students to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care while advancing the school’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and hands-on experiential learning at High Point University.

 

Dr. Barrero earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Escuela Colombiana de Medicina in Bogotá, Colombia, followed by a Prosthodontic Certificate and a Master of Science in Oral Biology from Rutgers University. He also completed a fellowship in Dental Implants at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His academic career includes serving as a full-time clinical instructor at the UNC School of Dentistry and later as an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry for eight years. He returned to North Carolina to continue teaching and practicing prosthodontic dentistry, contributing his expertise in all phases of restorative and prosthodontic care.
