Professor Mulder teaches the history of early America and the American revolutionary era in addition to survey courses. He directs senior seminar projects in these fields and in cultural and religious history, his academic specialty. He has published A Controversial Spirit: Evangelical Awakenings in the South (Oxford University Press) and is a volunteer for the literary nonprofit BookmarksNC.org.
