Dr. Nahed Eltantawy is Dean and Professor of Journalism at the Nido R. Qubein School of Communication at High Point University in North Carolina. A Fulbright Scholar (2011) and Fulbright Specialist (2015–2020), her research focuses on women and gender studies, media representation, social media activism, and critical cultural studies.
In her leadership, Dr. Eltantawy prioritizes faculty empowerment, student-centered learning, and the expansion of experiential opportunities that prepare students for meaningful careers in communication and media.
Her work has appeared in numerous peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes, including Feminist Media Studies, The International Journal of Communication, and Communication and Critical/Cultural Studies. She is also the co-editor of The Palgrave Handbook of Gender, Media, and Communication in the Middle East and North Africa (Palgrave Macmillan, 2023).
