Nick Buzzelli, an Assistant Professor of Sports Media, will begin his fourth year at High Point University in 2025-26. He teaches courses such as Sports Reporting (SPT 2246), Sport and Communication (SPT 2256), and Reporting and Writing Across Platforms (JOU 2243). Before coming to HPU, Nick was an Instructor of Journalism at Mississippi College after receiving his Ph.D. in Communication & Information Sciences from the University of Alabama. His research primarily focuses on sports journalism processes and norms; Nick has written over 25 peer-reviewed journal articles. He is also the author of Normalizing the sports journalism niche: Coexisting in a modern news landscape (Peter Lang), which was published in 2025. Outside of teaching, Nick enjoys spending time with his wife, Ashlyn, and daughter, Emrie.
