Gerald Ward

Gerald Ward is Assistant Director and Head of Archives & Special Collections at HPU Libraries. He holds a B.A. and an M.L.I.S. from UNC Greensboro, along with extensive postgraduate work in book and paper conservation. After many years focused on preservation and conservation, he now leads efforts to develop dynamic, engaging collections and resources for HPU’s Archives and Special Collections.

Ward is a Professional Member of the American Institute for Conservation and serves as Chair of the Special Collections Section of the North Carolina Library Association. He is also an Associate Editor of North Carolina Libraries journal and an active member of the American Library Association, the North Carolina Preservation Consortium, the Guild of Book Workers, and the Society of North Carolina Archivists.
