Mark earned a Bachelor of Music degree (bassoon) from Ithaca College, a master’s degree from The Ohio State University (bassoon), and a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in bassoon from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). He brings his wealth of knowledge and experience into the classroom and as an applied lesson instructor. Mark’s academic journey included a cognate in ethnomusicology, reflecting his interest in the cultural and social dimensions of music.
Mark has been the 2nd Bassoonist in the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra since 2013 and is an active free-lance bassoonist in North Carolina. Originally from Michigan, he now calls North Carolina home. He resides in Winston-Salem with his wife and children.
