Dr. Paula A. Luke, O.D., FAAO assumed the position of Associate Dean of Academics at High Point University School of Optometry on August 1, 2025. Dr. Luke previously served as Associate Dean of Academic Programs at Pacific University College of Optometry for nearly two years. In this role she was responsible for both academic and student affairs. She is a tenured professor with over 15 years of experience in higher education, including leadership in curriculum development, academic policy, and program accreditation.
Dr. Luke has directed numerous didactic and clinical courses across three optometric institutions, served on and chaired curriculum and academic standards committees, and held administrative roles including service as Chief of Pediatrics and Vision Therapy. Her qualifications are further supported by a robust record of scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications, funded research, and national presentations, as well as sustained involvement in patient care and clinical instruction.
Proposed teaching responsibilities: Clinical teaching in primary care, pediatrics, TBI and vision rehabilitation. Didactic instruction in the basic sciences, pediatrics, binocular vision, TBI, vision rehabilitation, and neuroanatomy/neuro-optometry.
