Dr. Maryke Neiberg earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston. She is a residency-trained, board-certified optometrist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO).
Dr. Neiberg holds the rank of Professor and serves as the Director of Assessment at High Point University School of Optometry. She has a sustained record of excellence in optometric education, including receipt of the California State Optometric Association Excellence in Optometric Education Award, along with multiple institutional teaching honors.
Dr. Neiberg has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and scholarly presentations and has delivered invited lectures at national and international meetings. Her scholarly focus includes neuro-ophthalmic disease and the ocular manifestations of systemic disease. She has contributed book chapters to the field and has served on the American Academy of Optometry Fellowship Admittance Committee.
Her academic leadership experience includes Dean, Founding Dean, Associate Dean, and Externship Director.
