James Johnson graduated from the Wake Forest School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program in 2001 and later received a Master in Physician Assistant Studies degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center School of Allied Health Professions in 2005. His fourteen years of clinical experience includes Trauma/Burn Surgery, Emergency Medicine, and Urgent Care. In addition to clinical practice experience, James brings several years of experience in the provision of immersive learning opportunities for students. In 2006 James helped start the Old Town Medical Clinic, a free medical clinic operated as a ministry of Old Town Baptist Church. Additionally, James serves as an Assistant Medical Director for Forsyth County EMS with a focus on Tactical Medicine. His goal in PA Education is to “provide educational experiences that help students synthesize data and apply their knowledge to patients.”
