Dr. Linda Sekhon is the Founding Chair and Professor for the Department of Medical Sciences and Director for the Doctor of Medical Science Program. She has been a PA Educator since 1996. She has presented and published several articles on clinical and professional PA topics and was honored by the AAPA in 2012 with a Paragon Publishing Award for her article on Rheumatoid Arthritis. She was a HRSA grant reviewer and has been involved with several grants. During her academic tenure she served on the Board of Trustees for the Wake Forest Baptist Health-High Point Medical Center and the Editorial Board for the North Carolina Medical Journal (NCMJ). She has been a PA since 1983 with an extensive clinical focus in Rheumatology. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and served on numerous professional committees at the state and national level. She was the AAPA Governance Commission Chair and served in the House of Delegates (HOD) for 15 years for which she was awarded the HOD Service Award in 2019. She currently serves as President Elect for the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) and was extensively involved in PA faculty development throughout her career.
